The Foreman is a very good ATV. A friend has one and I rode it quite a bit on an elk hunt a few years ago. Hondas are about bulletproof. However, it does lack a few features that are nice to have if you really get into some nasty terrain.
The solid rear axle handles well but not real forgiving on rough terrain. I know my lower back suffered when riding it but then it is an old lower back.
Ground clearance is sufficient for about 90% of the riding but if you get into bigger rocks, logs, or deep mud, a few extra inches of an IRS has comes in very handy.
One thing I can't figure out on Honda. They don't have front Lockers. Sometimes you are really glad to have one.
I went with an AC 650 V2 when I got mine. I don't ride real fast or hard but need the ground clearance, smooth ride, and basically the climb over or through anything features it had. It just does those things really well for a hunting and chore ATV. Hauled an entire elk and my gear out on it last year over some really nasty rock trails and never bottomed out.
Now if I were the rip down the trails type, I would have gotten something else. The AC650 gets a bit squirrely on fast trails because of the high ground clearance. And it's size and wide turn radius can be a problem at times too.
