It appears you have a "hardwood" stock on your rifle. I have several and have stained the stocks to the point they appear to be good old walnut.
There are several good stock stains on the market. I just followed the directions to the letter and had good results. Just be sure to allow the stain to thoroughly dry for a day or two before you apply a boiled linseed oil, or other, top coat finish. If you apply the top coat too soon, the stain will "pull" off the stock. Also, you may need to apply several coats of stain to get the proper color. Good luck.
