We've got an Invisible Fence. Actually, this is the second place we've had it. If you get the real one, which we have, its great. Everytime i hear of problems, its with a knock-off or DIY version of this. Get the real thing and it will probably work for you.
We've had a large Chessie in it and she was fine with it. We currently ahve a Bichon and a Basenji trained on it and its quite effective with them. Neither of these dogs will even apporach the boundary even with their collars off. I had the Basenji out ofr w walk the other day and a neighbor had the little white trianing flags up on their yard. She would not even go within 10 yards of their flags!
Its going to be a matter of training and equipment. IF's name-brand equipment works and they will teach you how to train the dogs.
