Anouther update. He is a really good dog, but I doubt he will be much of a hunter, atleast anytime soon. At first I did not think he had been abused but the more I work with him and watch him, it is becomeing very clear he was
But if anything he will make a nice family pet, and maybe one day he will turn into a hunter. Atleast I have Raven and I know she will be a good hunter if I can ever get on enough ducks for her to really get the hang of what is going on. 1 duck a season is not enough to really get a good grasp on what is going on. She wants to do it but just has not had enough experience to do it well.
As far as Duke goes he is gun shy, and has no real intrest in fetching a ball, and when he does he does not bring it back half the time, just lets it lay there. But these are things that might work themselves out with some work. But for right now I am just going to let him be and let us gain his trust before I start to push him.
So as of now things are going pretty well, and I hope that one day I'll have 2 dogs to take out to the blind. But right now I just have a nice family dog
