I feel one of the most important things you can teach a kid is gun safety and not to fear the gun as much as respect the gun. A loaded gun in the hands of anyone who posts on this site does not scare me in the least because we have all been taught how to safely handle firearms and how to respect them. A loaded gun to me is a tool- all be it a very deadly tool that, when handled properly, should only be feared by deer, not people. Too many antigun people have never been taught how to handle guns and because of that, they fear guns. They have never shot guns, were taught to fear them and, to their way of thinking, no one should have guns. We know different and to us, the scarriest thing most of us can think of is someone breaking in our houses or threatening our loved ones and us NOT being able to have a gun to PROTECT ourselves and loved ones.
