pickled beets. Ya take a beet an pickle it. Not bad. little tangy most of the time. I prefere pickle quail eggs myself.
Anyway I would subtract the green beans and add a good bit o garlic, cumin, cayanne, and come chili powder. For a little extra heartyness you can dump a bottle of heavy red wine in it.
You the best of them stay on low for several days and as you remove you add. Had one a few years back that somebody dumped about a dozen sliced of applewood smoked bacon into it. . . . You talk about good.
