The big three (Rem, Fed., and Winchester) all make a foster type slug in 16 gauge. Brenneke (my choice) makes it's slug in 16 as well. Lightfield used to make a sabot-type slug in 16 gauge when Ithica made rifled bores for thier 'new' M37 a few years back. Fiocchi also makes a 16 gauge slug, but might be hard to find.
I would definetly recommend patterning your 16 gauge for turkeys, and at different ranges. Federal used to make a copper plated load in #4 and #6 with 1 1/4 oz of shot, and Fiocchi's "Golden PHeasant" load with 1 1/8 oz of Nickle plated #5s would be worthy of a look also.
If you have an adjustable choke device on your shotgun, I have found that a more open choke (i.e. improved modified) might give tighter patterns than a full or extra full choke......experimentation is the key. Good luck and keep us posted.
