I have a 6.8 and have shot two others a bit. However none of them were Bushmaster so I cannot say about them.
Bushmaster seems to do OK with 5.56 so I dont know of any reason why they would not be OK in 6.8.
There are a few oddities with the 6.8. Early ones (including 2 of the ones I have experience with) had tight chambers and the extractor springs were a bit weak (that is true of many aftermarket 5.56 carbine extractors also).
Some ammo (Remington and other factory) gave excessive pressure in the early chamber but supposedly both the chamber dimensions and the loads have now been worked out.
It's a sound concept. I dont think the military will end up accepting it across the board (wish they would!) but it could be great for civilain L.E. and regular guys and gals.
I have shot two deer with mine. It did just fine.
