How much do you actually save by buying the cheap bullets? How does that compare to the total cost of doing the shooting you intend to do? I bet it's not very significant in that comparison.
For prairie dogs, accuracy is far more important to me than a few cents per bullet. If I can't hit them, whatever bullet I used was a complete waste of money.
Buy whatever shoots well, and have some fun.
