It depends on the range that I plan to be shooting. If the gun will be used for shots under 300 yrds. none at all. From 300 to 500 yrds. I start considering the BC and like to have them at least .300. For a ammo the will be use from 500 out I like to keep the BC up around .500. Right now I`m useing the 80 gn. Serria MK bullets in my .22-6mm. I can push them to over 3,600 fps. safely, but I`m still not satisfied with my groups. I tried the 75 gn. Hornady HP`s and blew them up in the air. Called Hornady and ask how fast I could puch them and was told 3,500 fps. in a 1 in 9 twist barrel. No wander they weren`t make it to the target at 3,700 fps in an 8 twist barrel. When shooting you only need to know enough to get the job done that you have to do at the time. If you want to shoot accurately at longer ranges you need to know more about external blistics and you will need a good range finder for starters.
