After a quick talk, he's pretty much hunted mostly the Northern 1/3 rd part of the state and said you can pretty much park anywhere and flush 5-6 birds in an hour.
The last two years were aweful b/c of massive rainstorms during hatch. 3 years ago they were everywhere and as he put it, "you could kill they with ballbats", there were so many of them.
He claims this year will start to get better. There's a Grand National championship in the end of October up North and he'll may be heading up there. Sounds like you have some super grouse hunting north of you.
