If the smith does it right there is not much difference in accuracy between different rounds. The only advantage you have with the Weatherby over a .25-06 in about 25 yrds. more on max. point blank range figured on plus or minus 5 in. With a 117 gn. Serria spt bullet the .25-06 will get you abt. 355 yrds and the Weatherby will get you 380 yrds. With the .25-06 ammo will be far easier to find and alot cheaper to buy. If you reload the Weatherby brass will cost alot more and you will not be ablt to load it as many time as you can the .25-06. If I were going for some thing in 25 cal. and going for fast I would probily go with the .257 Baker Mag. It is the .264 Win. case necked down and will give you another 25 yrds. over the Weatherby.
To be honest my pick in of the 25 cal`s is the .257 Ackley imp. Does abt the same as the .25-06 with alittle less powder, and I like the case better. They all kill game.
