RUMLUVER, don't know if you made your choice yet but I've taken quite a few lopers and deer with the .257 Weatherby and it has performed well. The brass is more expensive if you buy it retail. At gun shows is where you want to look for brass as it is not as popular as the .06, .308, .270 etc etc . When you find it it is usually priced well below retail. I've found brand new Weatherby brass for $10.00 a box at our gun show, bought all ten boxes of it.
If you don't reload I would go with the 25.06 as it is easier to find in general stores when out of state hunting . I think the 25.06 is a great caliber and would have one but my wife back in 1988 surprised me with one for a X-mas gift
