It may be exacerbated by the current "Obamaphobia" ammo hoarding, but that's not the manufacturers fault, it's ours. As somebody else said, "If we idiots are fighting each other to pay outrageous prices for stuff, why would the sellers lower the price?"
I'm wiling to bet this is more the cause than anything, esp. with rumors of a 500% tax on ammo, having to use only 'coded' ammo, reloading being banned in the future, ect.
Some of us remember the Clinton administration and similar goings-ons then as well....there was a rumor going around that the administration wanted 'expirable' primers that would be no good after a certain date.....things were exacerbated by a lot number on a batch of primers starting with "EXP".
While I fear the Obama administration more than any other (mostly due to the likes of Pelosi, Schumer, Feinstein, et al), I think he has much, MUCH more on his plate to worry about than us.....the economy is in shambles, the war still goes on in Iraq & Afghanistan, ect, ect.....he has made so many promises to so many people, and those issues are more pressing right now. Plus, I think that the Democratic party is still reeling from the last election where those who supported gun control lost elections. Even though they control things now, if they want to stay in control, they better A.) Pony up and do what they promised as far as the economy, jobs, ect and B.) tread lightly in the area of gun control.
FWIW
