I agree with you completely. I asked the girl that sent that to me if these dogs are AKC certified, if they have any type of field or show trial wins, and what their lineage is and if their parents, grandparents, or great grandparents have any field or show trial certs. Haven't heard back from her about that.
I know too many people that just breed labs to make a buck. They sell them for $400 each. Me, I ended up paying $850 for Nitro and did a ton of research before buying him. There was one other dog that I was considering that was going for $1,100. People ask me what Nitro cost me, and then they have a cow because they think labs should cost $400. They just do not understand.
At the end of the day, there are too many irresponsible breeders out there because there are too many irresponsible buyers out there that don't think about a dog being a 10+ year commitment. That is why the adoption organizations and pounds have their hands full.
FYI - I saw a parakeet or cockatoo in a tree the other day. I don't know the exact name, but it is grey with yellow and orange in its face. I'm betting somebody got sick of it and let it go out the window.
