Unless I have missed it, no one here seems to have brought up the fact that changing primer brands may alter ballistic characteristics. I too am a CCI man and normally won't use any other primers. During the crunch I had to use some Winchester primers which the (so-called) expert at the gun store said "oh these are the same as CCI!". Well they weren't! After never having experienced any problems using CCI primers with a particular load I had about 2-3 out of every five shells having punctured primers using the Winchesters. Now it was an extremely hot day and/or this may have just been a fluke but it was enough to convince me not to change any components without working up a new load from scratch.
