Yeah, I figured as much.....even so, I hunt with a friend who has another friend who insists that you need 3 1/2 #2 hevishot to kill ducks, and that you need a .300 Weatherby mag as minimum for whitetails.  Needless to say, we don't hunt much together..........  |
Made 8 geese worth of jerky so far this year and haven't found a single pellet in the breast meat (knock on wood). I am hoping that with #4 shot I will get through and through shots on the pheasants.
I hunt ducks with 3 1/2" #2 hevi-shot and my favorite deer hunting rifle is a Ruger 77MKII in .300 Win Mag. LOL For the most part though, I use 3" shells for ducks and I have used a .270 and .30-06 for whitetails.
I just find that the 3 1/2" and the .300 Win Mag kills them deader. LOL
