I used to use all kinds of caps and found as you did that the CCI were the most consistent..although I did have some RWS I think many years ago. As far as the tool to make percussion caps..it was made in the past by Forster. I had one at one time and it did work but the priming supply was pretty weak. You used toy cap pistol caps by cutting the center out and fitting them in the cap made from aluminum. Using a little ol Merican ingenuity though you can make better priming compound. Sold mine years ago..or anyway it has disappeared. Keep an eye on ebay and you will see one ever now and again. There was also at one time an adapter that used pistol or rifle primers and it was really great. Don't remember the name but I sold a few back a lot of years. It was slow to use though if I remember right..it was sealed I think. I was told that they never failed to fire by one of the people that bought one.
