I put down 3.5 tons of lime in late Feb and about a half ton of phosphorous and potash, to bring my soil on my range to the PH level needed, after years and years of pine trees. I tried to plant peas and a small bit of corn, but nothing took, soil is still too messed up. So the folks up the road have a buy or you pick it, farm and I stop by on the weekend to get a few things. Our weather has been weird, it was talcum powder dry for two months and now it is soggy and everything not wanted is growing, like weeds, literally. So far it looks like we will have two good crops out of this, pecans and squirrels. No pecans last two years due to drought now the trees have a good bit of steady water and green pecans all over them so it may be good if the water holds. The quail are all around and I see turkey feathers every time I mow. The birds are loving the weeds and their seed.
