Buckhunter.. I am assuming much but..as for carrying a shotgun in the field..Put a sling on it. I've done that since the 60's Cause for most of your time in the field it isn't necessary to carry in your hands. even when quail hunting I carried the gun over my shoulder bbl pointed down left hand on the forend..quick enough mounting to shoot a couple on an unexpected covey rise. I agree a 20 is an easier gun to shoot in our older years.. I quite often hunt with a 1100 G3 20 ga..only made it for a couple of years..but it is a really nice shotgun. and yep..even though it is a limitied edition type of shotgun..I put sling swivels on it..BTW if you put a sling on..use Quick Detach on it..that way when dove hunting or waterfowling you can take it off. less'n you are walking a stream for ducks. Also BTW the gun goes butt up in the back of your shoulder sling in front. left hand on the forend. bring the bbl towards the right when mounting and turn the gun upright on the way around. quicker than carrying the gun cradled in your left arm like ya see in the pictures. I shot 2 cock birds(pheasants) on one rise last week that way...but I did see one as he crouched just before he took off
