Lyman slugs

Those slugs are meant to be loaded in a shotshell wad. I tried 'em out pretty well when I got a mould last year. They seem to work ok..but don't expect GREAT accuracy with them. They are ok with a rifled bore.. Factory loaded slugs are usually much more accurate. I quit loading slugs. Not worth the time and trouble. and where I might have to use 'em..it will be for grizz protection.. I want good stuff. For grizz protection I use a smooth bore 1100 or 11-87 with regular foster slugs. Hope I never have to use it. Almost have to clean my drawers thinkin about it. Deer hunting with slugs is ok..but I also went to a Savage smokeless powder muzzleloader as have most of my friends I hunted with in Md. good for about 200 yds or a bit farther..but the average shot is usually under 75 yds any way. OSOK Now all that being said..if ya want something to play with..have at it. That is why we reload...to have fun. Never really made it cheaper..I just shot more. LOL!!
