Like you, I carried many guns in my LEO career. Autos are nice, but per my experience, they are dependent on PERFECT ammo and Perfect magazines. I also went to the S&W Armorers School and built 5, M65 3-inch .357 revolvers and was allowed to buy one.
I carry either my M65 or a Colt Cobra in a pocket of my Woolrich hunting coat as I go about town in Winter. Bad Stuff will go down in three seconds or less so BIG Magazines are merely mental games for those never before in a "Hot Corner."
