Dan,

Thanks for the kind words. All retired law enforcement officers are eligible for Act 218 Carry if they qualify on the range and did not retire with "mental disabilities." In my class was a retired U.S. Marshal and a retired PA state trooper, both are my neighbors and we all shot well. Our Instructor was a lad I met 15 years ago while at the nearby college majoring in Criminal Justice. He is a sworn officer on a municipal police department and a certified law enforcement trainer per Act 218.

Your comment about shooting a hammer-fired semi auto better than a striker-fired semi auto was discussed after our shoot for qualification. Per Act 218, only the gun (s) fired on the range are covered by the credentials so we all shot two handguns. All of us did better with our .45 automatics versus our Glocks of various calibers.

I read on the internet that some agencies are going back to the 9mm for duty arms. I like the 9mm, but on the range firing from the 1 yard line, 3 yard line, 7 yard line and all the way back to 25, I always could see the dime-size .45 holes center mass better than the smaller 9mm hits on the prior target.

Notice a fired 9mm case will fit INSIDE a fired .45 case. I rest my case. LOL.

Adam
