With 150s, I prefer 748. W760 seems just a titch slow for that weight, but really hauls the mail with 165s.

My load is 47.0 of 748 under a 150 Hornaday, WW cases and primers and a 2.76" OAL.

A few years back, there was an article in one of the gun rags where the makers of different powders were asked which of their powders was the best for use in the .308 Win.? I forget swhat most of them were, but as I use a lot of Winchester powders, their comments stuck in my mind. According to the Winchester rep, W-748 was THE powder for the .308; that it was developed expressly for that round. Considering that though, I've been using W-760 for the .308. Go figure. Actually, I have three rifles (Ruger 77 RSI models in .308) that will not shoot anything but W-760. It is a weird deal. Also they will not shoot a 150 gr. bullet of any type or a 180 gr. spitzer either. But shoot a 180 gr. round nose and you'd think it was a target rifle. (.75") I use the 165 gr. Speer Hot-core with 49.0 gr. of W-760 though. Accuracy is reasonable (1.25") and velocity is fair at 2550 FPS from the 18.5" barrel. The same load from a 22" barrel is 2610 FPS. Where this gets really strange is these two loads are the only ones that work in those three rifles, and others who have had problems with the RSIs in .308 who have tried the load say it solved their problem.
I haven't chronographed the 180 gr. load, but it's the 180 gr. Sierra round nose with 48.0 gr. of W-760.
FWIW, those Ruger RSIs are the fussiest rifles I've ever tried to make handloads for. I got into every one of them are fairly low prices because their previous owners couldn't make them shoot good groups.
That 165 gr. load is good enough for deer to 250 yards, guaranteed.
Be advised that those two loads were max in my rifles.
