I must be missing something! Why on Earth would anyone want a stamped out POS like that thing? I guess I'm older than I thought, and I knew I was old, but I see no quality in that thing at all. It is cheap, because it IS CHEAPLY MADE!
I guess there are different stroaks for different folks. I'm a self defense addict, but my view is if you have a cheap life, buy a cheap gun! ![]() That is my personal bias, and that is not any barr to you buying what ever floats your canoe! At least if the conoe tips over and you loose it in the river, there will be little loss! SORRY HOSS!

There was a guy at my range that had one. Cool looking and shot darn good for an inexpensive gun. I was shootin my 9mm at the same time and we ran some of my reloads through the gun. There were a few jams, but they were not the fault of the gun. Some of the bullets were not seated deeply enough and they'd hang up in my gun as well.
I think that for the price, they're a decent fun gun. Sorry Mac, but the darned things do work, and work well. Between me and the fellow that owned the gun, we probably ran over 300 rounds through the gun, his factory stuff and my reloads. Out of all those rounds, there were five jams and that was due to the reloads with in improperly seated bullets. Two of the cheapest guns every made were the British Sten gun and out own M3 "Grease gun." I've never shot the Sten, but I can tell you thism that M3 never failed me when the chips were down. Don't knock it until you try it. Neither gun ever failed in combat that I know of. I know mine did not. Paul B. |

gun test magazine gave them an excellent rating. considering gun test mag. doesn't get any advertising dollars that is significant.
i'm still thinking about buying one.

They're made in my hometown. I've shot a number of their handguns, but never had any experience with the carbine. Simply made, but they seem to function well from what I've heard.

one of the most simple and reliable semi auto rifle, proven to be so on the face of the planet is the butt ugly AK-47. I also agree with the grease gun being simple and ugly and reliable as far as a machine gun goes.
I was just curious about the hi-point Seemed like it was the first time seeing them and they were all ove this show for under $200. I still don't know how to justify buying one but I might just have to make me an unjustified purchase....... ![]() ![]() BTW anyone that says they like the Hi-point I don't think you are going to convince ole Mac up there that they are anything but ugly Junk. I mean the man's signature says it all. When All Real Rifles have 2 barrels you are looking at someone with very refined taste and deep pockets. LOL |

The KelTec sub2000 is way better
I hear alot about how poor the Hi points relyability is. Heck I even experienced it. Two months ago I bought a Kel Tec Sub2000 for $215. The Sub2000 is a far better firearm than the Hipoint carbine.
It is far more relyable (Ive had no jams of any kind), it can take 17 rd and 32rd Glock mags, It weights 4.5lbs, It also folds in half, where it can easly be put into a backpack or brifecase. There is a Kel Tec forum, witch has neat little mod. tips

I have had one for several years and it's one of the better firearms i've had.
Cheap...not at all, inexpensive yes, and yes there is a difference in the two. I originally bought it as a "truck gun" to use on the farm for plinking and if it got stolen i wouldnt be out several months pay. Granted it took a little breaking in, had a few jams until the action smoothed out around 500 rounds or so. have not had one jam, or malfunction of any kind, in the last 2 years and roughly 1500-1700 rounds of ammo. Hi-point also has a _very_ good warrenty, damn near a no questions asked, fixed or replaced, S&H only. Would i compare one of their pistols to a colt national match pistol? nope, i wouldn't, but thats apple to oranges, totally different design principles. I would however, put it up against _ANY_ semiatuo light rifle that costs less than $1000, in a similar chambering, in a test of function, reliability, accuracy and be quite happy to do so. Some people will like them, some won't, thats the nature of the beast with almost any product that exists, but for a inexpensive, lightweight, semiauto rifle, it's "darn tootin". |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My taste may be refined where rifles are concerned, but my pockets have more holes in them than a golf course! I assure you, I have a beer budgit, to work with, being 70 yrs old, and on a fixed income! ![]() ![]() ![]() The fact that I have some double rifles isn't an indication of wealth, any more than a $25,000 bass boat, and a jacked up $45,000 4X4 pick-up, sitting in front of a rusty double wide trailer house, with six or more home appliances on the porch does. It is simply a matter of priorities. I simply happen to like well made firearms, and dispise junk! ![]() The true AK47 is not a stamped out piece of junk. That thing is a quality piece of military equipment, if it is ugly, military guns are supposed to be ugly. Though I have no desire to own any Military gang banger firearms, The AK 47 is relaible! The after market junk made to look like a real Ak47 coming out of China, ARE junk! ![]() Folks lets not turn this into a slight to anyone here, that wasn't my meaning. I reserve that distinction for the High point carbine! I simply do not see why anyone would want one! ![]()

![]() You asked for info, i gave ya what i have personally experienced. We all have different tastes and likes/dislikes, it's what makes life interesting ![]() That is also what makes most discussions here really interesting, the almost totally different perspectives on almost any topic. We can always agree to disagree, i know i've done so with Treedoc, Fabs and Wolverine on different issues, but whether i disagee with them or not, i still respect them and their views. And that is one of the best things here at Huntchat, we can all fight and argue, and still keep it civil ![]() |

SHOOT GREAT
I happen to own one. I bought it over 8 years ago and shot a million rounds through it and it has never let me down or jammed one time. Very reliable. Great customer service also. My friend dropped it by accident and it busted off the sight. I called them up and they sent me one in the mail that day. 100% lifetime guarantee. Don't get much better than that if you ask me.
