Question Pack Animals for Elk Hunts

Any advise as to how to get started using pack animals to pack in camp / pack out elk? Packing it out by foot is one major chore.

Find a local that's got horses to rent or will pack out for you. Most will do it for $150 to $200 depending on where you are. Sometimes it's worth every penny....but packing out on your back is part of the fun that comes with elk hunting

Next year, check before season....there is locals that will rent mules.....better footing...to you at the start of hunt...food and the works! Get with me and I'll try to come up with some numbers.
BTW, good shot.
Also, before net year, we need to get some range time together. I shoot over at Clear Creek County.

What we really need to do

Is get a nice elk hunt together for some of the guys here on HC. I'm in.

Hey we could even let Petey Sponsor the hunt, tape the devil and let him make a little dinero on one of the hunting channels. And we could be movie stars off on a free ?? hunt! Yeeeehhhhhaaaa!

Does this mean you will pack our elk out on your back or do we have to get pack mules?

If we can get Petey to Sponsor....we'll have mules. If not ...since it was my idea...someone else gets to do the packing. Since that part was yer idear...I nominate you I do hope we can get Petey to go along though...He can do the camera work I can cook..specially after I shoot my elk

I'll be glad to pack out every elk we shoot, only I get to pick the hunt location.
I'm thinking maybe somewhere in the Carribean.

Might be worth a thought. I know of plenty of places to hunt and I actually may get the green light to do an elk hunt next year.

It's a jump ball at the moment and I'll know more about it come January. The lil' Mrs. will only let me go on so many hunts a year. Don't blame her, otherwise I probably wouldn't be home too much.
