finally getting my new rifle

If anyone remembers a few months back I was trying to decide between a Rem 700 and a Savage VLP.
I had made my decision long ago, but the gun wasn't available. Well, I was able to place the order last Friday and should be receiving it in 3-4 days (Savage model 12 VLP .243).
Now I have to decide on a scope. I've chosen Leupold as the manufacturer I want, but the model is a hard choice. It is down to a VX-III or VXL. Either one would be long range 4.5-14, and my preference is for a duplex recticle. I just can't decide.
Any advice??
