Skeet...I gutted, skinned and cleaned that deer and packed him up today...you dern right I'm gonna outdo him...and he's gonna clean mine when I git him LOL
I'm tickled to death fer him BUT....
We're headin back out tomorrow A.M...hopefully..the good Lord willin, it'll be my turn!

He killed thatun @ 9:30 am...50 cal TC loader @ 20 yrds. Hubby said he came runnin full bore down the hill straight towards him from behind him. He had a 1/2 sec to turn around, throw the gun up and draw a bead. He hadn't been there for long and he used some good ole Tinks on his boots...he said the buck had his nose to the ground at a full run towards him, he never looked up till he got 20 yrds from him and he stopped and turned. That's when he took the shot.

Rut has been wierd here. It seems that with all the warm weather its done pushed the rut off...all the deer I been seein is the same as in early October when bow season started. Younguns still with their mama...and they are just bout as big as the mama! Does with no bucks..and bucks still in groups.
But yet, hubby got thatun chargin at him..and his neck was swollen. I think it's finally kickin in good..

Measurements are 18 1/2" inside spread, 5" brows (not to the base of the antler but the bottom of the brow tine...is that how ya measure it?) and the longest tines measured 9 3/4" and 9 1/2". Not the biggest in the world by a long shot...but it's goin to the dermy next weekend anyways.

Right along with the monster I'm gittin in the mornin LOL
Ohhhh...Mr Murphy is gonna kick my butt fer thatun!
