Remington Model 582

I was wasting time in a gun shop and spotted a mint condition Remington 582. I am fond of these classic bolt action rifles. The shop owner said the rifle came in as a trade item earlier in the day. It came home with me. I mounted a scope and took the rifle to the range. At 50 yards, it shot wonderful groups. All the best...

Good choice

I keep looking and hope to find a Model 581 or 582. Take care...

I love mine. Bought it new in the box at a gun show back in 1983 - for $65.

The 580 was a single-shot, the 581 clip-fed and the 582 was the tube-fed version. They are a budget version (birch stocks) of the highly accurate 540. The stock takes away none of the accuracy.
