Strawberry Creek Outfitters

This was the second year I made the trip out to hunt with Dave Fisher at Strawberry Creek Outfitters. He's best known for his Merriams turkey hunts in the springs but trust me he's got lots of big deer to hunt as well. If you're an archey nut like me think about this next statement. He has access to about 24,000 acres of riverbottom / creekbottom ground in Nebraska as well as about 6,000 more in tribal grounds in South Dakota! He only takes 4 to 8 gun hunters per year and not very many archery hunters know about it yet. This is a gold mine place for a big buck. This year we went and hunted the tribal early muzzleloader season. I passed on numerous bucks as I never saw one that went over 130. My buddy that was with me shot this nice buck then saw a monster 140 class 8 point with only a doe tag in his pocket! If any one is interested, let me know and I'll hook you up with Dave's number. This is a SLEEPER!

update

I spoke with Dave 2 nights ago and of course, the deer are chasing now in Nebraska. The Primos boys who hunted turkeys there this spring are to be back in rifle season to hunt. If that doesn't tell you that it's a place to go, nothing would in my opinion! As a quick update, Dave says a local fellow just shot a buck that grossed at 190! This deer was shot less than 1/2 mile from where some of my group was at. Just up the creek actually. I'm going back so if anyone wants to join me, I'll set it up.
