Any advice for somebody who is wanting to try to start trapping?

Was wondering what kind of advice i could get on trapping. i am gonna try to start this coming fall, and was wondering what advice i could get from the more experienced trappers. I am on the coast of north carolina, so my main query is going to be coons, beavers, and otters mainly. And of course what ever else i can get. May be able to catch a few rats. Gonna try to use box traps and conni bear traps mainly. Any other ideas you would like to share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
