Tell Me a Story
Hey all,
I'm looking for some stories. As most of you know, I work for Gun Safety Innovations. We make a product called The Gunslinger, which secures your gun when you hunt from a treestand. It works to prevent problems should your gun drop or fall from the stand. I'm looking for some stories of times when you hunted from a stand and your gun did drop or fall. I want to put those stories on our web site, to help people see that accidents like this do happen. If you have a story to share, I would appreciate it. I would also like permission to use those stories on our site, so if you do tell me a story, please let me know whether or not I can use it on our site. You can share your stories here, or PM me with them. Thanks, GSG |

I have never fallen out or dropped a rifle/bow from a stand.
If you could design an arrow catcher to keep the arrow on the string for my bow you might have something. I remember some soft nocks on my xx78's dropping on the ground one day and i looked like i was chased up the tree by indian's.

Amen jmarriott!
The only thing I've ever dropped out of a stand (other than my seat cushion) was and arrow. Normally when it's coming to full draw and it decided to pop off and stick in the ground, only to have the buck look up at you and say "you dummy!". I have had this happen twice in the same year, the second resulting in a quick second arrow and kill. Needless to say my serving needed restrung from shooting so much, prior to season. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me! Won't ever make that mistake again. Another one of those "learn by experience" situations. Everything is in ship shape prior to season. I can't ever recall a near-miss occurance in the stand with my gun. Not to say it wouldn't happen (knock on wood). Your product would definitly save the day if that day ever did rear it's ugly head.

Guess we'll have to look into that arrow catcher idea.
Who knows, could make a good product. Thanks, guys. |
