I found a S&W revolver some time ago that's chamber for "32 Long Ctg" (as marked on barrel). The gun's been in the back of my gun safe until recently, when I discovered some 32 S&W rounds in my Dad's old stuff I was going through.

My question is: Is to safe to fire "32 S&W" in a revolver chambered for "32 S&W Long?" I'm guessing its OK, but I thought one of you out there might have more experience with these rounds than I do.

Is your .32 S&W top break or solid frame? If it is top break, be wary of old guns. If solid frame, then you can shoot .32 S&W ammo in your .32 S&W Long revolver. Adam

Thanks, Adam. Yea, it's a solid frame hand ejector; likely an early model 30.
