OK boy's, I got some hot new information on the Model 70. Take your extractor off and look for " S-R " to be stamped on the inside of the extractor. If you have it you are a lucky fellow. Prior to Winchester's decision to scrap the model 70 they decided to make the best model 70 ever made. These few rifles were made in 2005. The "S-R" was made by Williams and is machined out of Spring Steel. It was put only on those few "Super Rifles." Stay tuned for updates.
