A sad loss

On July 8th, a good friend of mine and long time Alaska big game guide, Harold "Zeke" Schetzle passed away due to a diving accident. Zeke had guided hunters from all over the world for Kodiak/Brown Bear, Grizz, Moose, Sheep and other native game. He was well liked and respected. I never had the great fortune to hunt with Zeke, but that was my goal; to hunt Dall Sheep with him. I want to express my deep sorrow for his family's loss. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. May he RIP. grayghost

Oh my goodness. I had no idea. I have two of his books and they are phenomenal. That is two great Alaskans passing this summer before their time. The other was Susan Butcher.

Kusko, I was reading some old posts and saw you refer to the passing of Susan Butcher.
Can you give me any details such as when and the circumstances? She was a friend of my daughter and she had not heard from her in a long time. She will want to know what happened. Please. My e-mail is larryjk@tribcsp.com

Susan was origionally from Cambridge, Mass the meca for Liberal's in Mass. From what I can remember she was all right. I really don't blame her for heading North. I had no idea she was gone.

I had not heard of Susan's passing.

I think I heard at one time that she had breast cancer.

I took my head into the sunlight and googled her. She died of a type of leukemia in 2006. Very special lady.

Zeke had another book in the works, but never had it published.
