				7mm Remington Magnum, 700 BDL

I just bought my deceased brother-in-laws Remington from his daughter. I don't need it, but I figure, everytime I go hunting I'll think of him, he was a fine person.

It's a 1976, Model 700 BDL, with a Leupold scope, it has only had 10 rounds through it, I know this for a fact. I paid her $450 for the whole rig, including 5 boxes of ammo, sling, and case. Well, now I need some dies and brass,,,, BTW, has anyone ever used the Russina made ammo for the 7mmMag? I noticed that Midway sells it for $10.00 less a box than Remington and Winchester...

I got my first Remington 700 BDL 7mm Magnum in 1976 and have loaded for them successfully. I suggest you back off your full length sizing die about a half turn or so and size to the shoulder on the cases you fired in your rifle. You need dies, I suggest RCBS, and as for brass, you have 5 boxes so shoot off one or two and reload those cases fired in your rifle. If you full length resize too hard; down to the belt, you will have case separations quick, fast and right away. Best of luck. Adam

I also have a Remington 700BDL in 7mm Rem. Mag. and find it one of the best rifles made. While it does kick a bit it's nothing excessive, and the accuracy is quite impressive. Mine is also vintage '70s. Best wishes.

I'm definately saving the info about the reloading of the 7 mil mag. I have never reloaded a belted magnum.

I don't have a 700 BDL but I have had a Savage 110 Left Hand Bolt for 22 yrs and this thing has been awesome. It has over a 1000 rounds shot through it cause I use it for deer, ground hogs and every New Years It gets 4 rounds shot at midnight. Sorta keeps the neighbors jumping when it goes off. Shoot some shells and I neck size for three times before full lenght as this works quit well in this gun. Still very accurate as I keep my loads slightly above the starting loads in the data books. I use Redding Deluxe Die sets as the have 3 dies Full Lenght, Seating, and Neck Sizing Dies all in one. I wanted a 700 BDL when I purchased this one a long time ago but could not afford it Due to the extra cost of the left hand thing. good luck and enjoy Benny
