2 labs that need a home
This was sent to me on Facebook, and I am assuming that the dogs are local to me in Maryland but I am not 100% sure about it. Just thought I would pass it on.
Subject: Seeking Home for 2 Family Dogs- Two gorgeous labs - trained Even if you cant take them, please pass this around! We are moving overseas in just 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I have still not been able to find a good home for Cookie and Coco . We ' re not able to take our beloved doggies with us and I've been desperately trying to find a home for both of them ' together ' . They were raised together and pine without each other. The Lab rescue have already said that they would probably separate them, so this is my last resort. Recently I tried to take Coco out in my car alone and she TOTALLY refused to even get into the car without Cookie......!!!! She absolutely pulled back on her haunches until Cookie was by her side. Both doggies are in great health, have been spayed and have ID chips implanted under the skin. Cookie turned 3 December 10th and Coco turned 3 April 1st. Cookie is my mellow-yellow, and just loves her tummy rubbed. Coco is adorably funny and lives for her "ball." She also loves the water...... Cookie loves lots of attention. Both doggies are loyal and love to walk. They have been raised with my 3 kids running around all over the place, and have survived Sammy ' s constant hugging and love of ' dress-up ' , so they are fantastic family dogs.. This is by far one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make, but under the circumstances I have no choice. Please, please forward these pics to all your friends. I want to find a great home for these fabulous doggies. They are just adorable and it ' s heartbreaking to let them go. In a perfect world, I hope that we could find someone local so that we can still keep in touch and visit them. I pray that someone, somewhere can help us keep Cookie and Coco together, and love them just as much as we do. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. kjmorris74@yahoo.com

Not to be a snob on the Lab issue but they really should start a responsible breeding program on this breed. Our animal shelters in this state are full of them and really hard to find homes for. They have bred this fantastic hunting dog down to a bone headed mess. Most of the dogs we get are not worth the food it takes to feed them. I can spot a good bred hunting lab the second it comes through the door and we get them out to hunters in pretty quick order.

Nulle,
I agree with you completely. I asked the girl that sent that to me if these dogs are AKC certified, if they have any type of field or show trial wins, and what their lineage is and if their parents, grandparents, or great grandparents have any field or show trial certs. Haven't heard back from her about that. I know too many people that just breed labs to make a buck. They sell them for $400 each. Me, I ended up paying $850 for Nitro and did a ton of research before buying him. There was one other dog that I was considering that was going for $1,100. People ask me what Nitro cost me, and then they have a cow because they think labs should cost $400. They just do not understand. At the end of the day, there are too many irresponsible breeders out there because there are too many irresponsible buyers out there that don't think about a dog being a 10+ year commitment. That is why the adoption organizations and pounds have their hands full. FYI - I saw a parakeet or cockatoo in a tree the other day. I don't know the exact name, but it is grey with yellow and orange in its face. I'm betting somebody got sick of it and let it go out the window.
