Talking Aint it purdy?

Yep that was on my bench Saturday evening. Kinda like a big birthday present to myself (even though mine is in Decemeber). Should be alot of fun. Now its too bad the gander mountain I went to was out of large pistol primers, small pistol primers, and every conceavable bullet I would ever have been interested in loading. . . .

Talking

The can of 4198 was actually given to me, and was unopened at the time (I broke the seal weeeee) At the same time I was given another can of 4198 that had about 1/4 used the person I got it from said he thought it might actually have a different powder in the can because he could remember he had a can that got a hole in it somehow and he thought he reused the 4198 can but didn't label it. It is the one taped shut that says do not use in the picture. I ain't crazy. He threw in the old can of winchester 748 (with about a cup left in the bottom) and the cardboard can of bullseye (about two tablespoons in the bottom) That will ALSO NOT be used. But the old cans were nice to have.

Sorry about the pic quality my cellphone cameras flash was acting funky, and I can't find my wifes digital camera atm.

Powders

I was at the gun show a week er so ago. Guy at the table across from me had 7 cans of Hodgdon HS-7 for 10 bucks each. By Sunday morning I traded him 8 rounds of Winchester 25-35s and 18 rounds of Remington 222 Rem mag ammo for 'em all. The powder was sealed new old stock in the old cardboard Hodgdon cans.. Going to load it in something..well some of it..Loading pistol rounds I'll probably never use it all. Should still be good. Dry out here..and still sealed..Ball powder lasts forever.. I hope

Long as it don't smell like old pee when you open it and/or it ain't got the red dust o death to it I would think it is fine. Since they were sealed yer in buisness. I wouldn't have used that open can even if the guy had sworn on a stack of Bibles it was all original. I trust people, but I know what MY memory is like, much less somebody elses.
