Danny,

I have an Argentine in Exc shape as well. I too priced mine by the Blue Book. I didn't see it in the gun traders guide, 2006.
You are correct on the price by the Blue Book guide. It says it is worth $750 less 30% for no crest.

Thing is, unless one was smuggled prior to WW1 there will be no crest. They were all ground off. Supposedly all but very few were accounted for an ground off.

I was very intrigued by this gun because it's amazing accuracy and workmanship given the fact that it was made in 1890-1892. They were the first ever Mauser of this kind, made by the design given them by Argentina. There is a very interesting history behind these guns and I will match them for accuracy against any factory sporter....They are AWESOME. Mine is missing the rear sight, it was taken off and a very old steel Baush and Lomb scope mount is mounted there in those holes I believe and it has an old European Reticle crosshair, the scope is un named.

I don't have mine here to look at right now. Most of these guns were "sporterized" so few are in orig. shape. I would think the collector value will be rising soon.

Good Luck selling yours.
