First day of loader season...

Was 18 degrees...I headed out to my stand on the "golden hill" I was tellin ya'll bout fore just before first light. Deer snorted at me fore I even got in the stand.
I got up in there...not 10 minutes later..deer came up behind me (again!!) and they snorted again and ambled off. I was up on that stand fer 30 minutes fore I thought to myself...to heck with this. All bow season and here we are again...and they are ALWAYS stayin behind me. So, Lilred gits outta the stand and believe it or not, sucessfully stalks another 75 yards behind the stand to a huge fell over tree. Yep, I thought, this is it. I sat down in tween the forks...and God was it uncomfortable. So I went to shift my weight...another deer took off...behind me again..all I seen was white tail.
So after about 5 minutes..I said yet again to heck with this..I got out the call. One long doe bleat followed by 2 young buck grunts...and all I heard was the frieght train comin. The 6pter came in full bore from behind me along with another deer I couldnt see. He was standin less than 10 ft in front of me fore I could even figure out what in tarnation was goin on...and then in rolled a monster 8pt (possible 10). I coulda wrassled both of em down they was so close!

I was froze..they was so close that i think they saw my breath in the cold. The 6pt turned, so did the 8, and when the 8 turned broadside in front of me in a big ole leap..I shot...and i missed.

See, they ran up on me so fast..I had not a second to git my gun in ANY position...much less on my shoulder. I tried to get it up on my shoulder so I coould see through the sights but I had this thick dam coat on and the stock caught the coat...so I shot lookin down the barrel insteada through the sights. I figured I couldnt miss...hell all I could see what deer hide! lmao...
I shot just under that buck while he was in mid-leap. It all happened within 20 seconds...so I felt perty good that I even got a shot off. In hindsight, I think he coulda jumped cause he heard the click on the bolt-then it took maybe 2 second fore the charge went off...maybe he jumped the loader?? lmao...I got some good excuses dont i?
Nevertheless, after I shot..the dern 6pter came walkin right back towards me and stood there less than 20 yards from me fer about 15 minutes amblin about.
Proves to me that at least they aint know where the shot came from or that I was there. So..I head back out tomorrow mornin..they're in full rut..so maybe the big boy will git stupid again. I only git to hunt the mornins...and I only got till wed to git me one. From all this missin I been doin..I got enough shirt tails to make a dern tent!
