500 yd's with a .22, That's the truth

A few days ago my brother was doing some long range shooting with the 243 at 500yds and introducing my cousin to shooting with the marlin 22 at 50 yds. I, being me, and 22 ammo being cheap took a hail-mary shot at the 500 yd target (a ply wood board proboaly 2'x4') just to see where dust would kick up, My brother and I listened for 3 (I counted) seconds, and then,...............A faint 'took' from the taget. After our exclaiming we took a look at the target (it had a sight in target taped on) and found nothing...on the board, on the target stand, made of light planks, my brother found a small hole in line with the bull's eye, a 22 caliber hole to be precise. The bullet passed through the plank and hit a screw, causing ricoche, bounced up and hit the target board denting it but nothing more. to do this, on a windless day, I put the bottom of the reticle on the target on 9 power in the 3-9x32 TASCO and, being pillow rested, let one fly! that simple! It was a blessed shot, I'm pretty sure. But hey, who knows!
