Actually the series 80 is just as good as a seies 70 except in fit and finish. After the series 80 Colt seemed to go downhill a bit more. The 80 had some design changes to enhance manufacturing. I just bought a seies 80 and it looks good but the series 70 goes higher in price. Just a bit nicer gun..in my opinion...For all intents and purposes the Mil Spec 45s are a very good buy now days. Get 'em new for 375 to 425 and they all seem to shoot ok. Colts on the other hand go for twice or more..and not worth it. But I have a Wilson Combat and can say...while overpriced...are probably still worth the cost
