Venezuela has a nice new AK47 plant going, thanks to Uncle Vladimir in Russia, and I suspect their biggest customers are the drug lords. The majority of "American" guns in Old Mexico would be those that Holder allowed to 'walk' across the border.

I haven't been to a local gunshow in some time - the fellers on our local gun forum report prices still high and availability still very sketchy for ammo and components. Primers..... faggitaboutit. I just bought a nice slightly-used Remington Model Seven Synthetic in .223Rem, and have plenty of handloaded ammo. Will change it to a laminate or walnut stock soon. It does have the best 'plastic fantastic' stock I have yet held - feels solid, not flimsy like the one on my Win 70 in .270WSM. Need to restock that one too, but will need a complete trigger guard/floor plate unit - that ain't cheap!
