In Missouri, you can use any centerfire cartridge for deer. Used to be 224 with at least 60gr bullet.
I do know of a fellar that killed one with a 17 Rem, but I wouldnt try it. Heck, I know of alot of illegal spotlite deer that have fallen to a 22lr and 22 mag, for that matter. O'Co, I mean, Model 70,  , why dont you lighten up a bit. If you hadnt noticed, you got respect of everyone here that I have seen. This is all good fun.
