If you've never trapped before it might be a little tricky trying to catch bobcats, but not impossible. What kind of traps and lures/baits are you using?
I've never tried to catch 'cats but i hear they're not to trap shy, but they have big ranges. Depending on the cat population it may take a week or so before it will come back to your set. But like i said, i don't know much about them.
I've trapped raccoons,oppossums,fox, and rabbits (just recently fox). I use 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 coilsprings mostly and use lures from a trappers supply.
