Here is a picture of a surelock snarelock ready to catch critters.

Fwiw I don't use 1/16 cable much. Although I do use it sometimes.
The reason is you will have more pelt damage and it also doesn't support itself.
Whereas 3/32 aka aircraft cable will hold a loop quite well. The 1/16 moves in the wind easier than3/32.

PS I have to take back my above comment. I sure have used surelock snarelocks before. Must be old age. Forgot their name.
FWIW I make my own locks.
They are like the locks under the pix of surelock.
