Here is an interesting but true story. Got a chance to speak to the gent I take my deer to today. Doug. Asking him about what happened out front of his house about a month ago, the story floored me.
There was a local wanna-be gangster wanted for a good 10 drive-by shootings when the locals spotted him in a car. The chase was on..lasted about 10 miles. He ended up crashing into another car in front of the shop. Doug, not knowing he was wanted ran out to help the accident victims. The guy got out of his car, hearing the police sirens, turned to run. Doug thinking this punk was leaving the scene and not knowing police after him, chased him. About 40' away, the guy tripped over a fence and upon picking himself up, turned to Doug, pointed something at him and Doug said sounded like a small pop...Not even a gun fire...So the guy took off around a house and tripped over the other fence and Doug almost captured him when the police screeched in....the guy tossed his gun into the creek as he crossed and they got him on the other side...Now the miracle...the guy had a tec 9 loaded with 30 rounds. When he fired at Doug, the shell was a dud and the round only went 1/2 way out the barrel jamming the gun...hummm....This man for sure has someone watching over him...The guy is charged with about a dozen offenses for all this including attempted murder and faces a good 60 + yrs...they want him to plea and only get about 10...out in 5 if good...Doug worried now...The guy is a punk....and bad news......Oh what goes on outside even in a small town.
