Dan Morris,

If you ever get East, there is a lovely museum at Bennington, VT. It costs about $5 to get in and see the uniforms, arms, equippage, etc., from the Battle.

At Fort Ticonderoga, it costs $10 to tour the Fort and to see the extensive museum within the stoneworks. I have never seen so many original muzzleloaders and cannon of every size on site.

Also, nearby Fort Ti is Fort Edward and other historic sites. I cannot think of a better way to spend a few mid-October Indian Summer days than in that area or Northern NH.
