Skeet, you would have thought that Rem. would have been smart enough to do that when they reintroduced it, but no used a 12 ga. frame. I have a 870 16 ga. Skeet from 1952, built on the 12 ga. frame that is a beautiful shotgun and weighs in at 6.76 lbs. Will bet that this Express is heavier. One thing is I have a good supply of 870 12 ga. frame woodstocks available to me, so will come up with some combo for a knock around 16 or in the orginal configuration for a young person.
