Yep, know about the 12.7 and the captured 50s also. There wasn't anything on a standard bird to stop a round, end to end or side to side and an M-60 was out distanced by double. Exactly why I did not hold up my hand, I was young and dumb, but not that dumb. Had too many buddies that went to school and others who were machinegunners who volunteered as chopper door gunners. Story was all the same, a flying target with no where to hide, like the Spanish sargent that stans atop the rock and yells; "shoot me."
Seems like the folks all round would co-op the deal and get some real wide spread eradication going, plus get the willing to pay the freight for the exercise. Same a dove shooting in Argentina, you have a pest by the millions so you charge shooters to shoot them, shooters that are willing and able to foot the bills. Ed
